2021 Program

In 2021 the Lake Mac Writers group is planning to return to face-to-face meetings. Please watch for any updates to our meeting schedule.

This month (covid permitting) we will conduct our group’s Annual General Meeting before moving on to some general discussion, and readings of some fun short pieces. LMFAW member, Bronwyn MacRitchie, sharing her experiences audio-recording her book. Bronwyn’s memoir Pixie Dust was published in 2020.

May 8, 2.30 pm, Toronto Multi-Purpose Centre

A member of the Institute of Professional Editors will be at our meeting to present on the topic of editing and proofreading, as part of their Ambassador Program.

April 10, 2.30 pm, Toronto Multi-Purpose Centre

The topic this month will be self-publishing. Jan Mitchell will lead the session, highlighting various aspects of self-publishing printed books and ebooks.  Jan comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge, having self-published seven books under her own name as well as two ebooks.

March 13, 2.30 pm, Toronto Multi-Purpose Centre

As this will be our first face-to-face meeting for a year, we are planning to spend the meeting sharing our writing experiences over the last year and talking about our current writing projects. We will also review our efforts on a small writing exercise (theme “courage”).
